Has anyone read any good books on directing and production?

I've not explored this myself but it seems like I subject I should look into. Here's a starting point, search results on Amazon for "film directing":

Recently picked up The Film Director Prepares: A Practical Guide to Directing for Film and TV by Myrl A. Schreibman and Directing, Fourth Edition: Film Techniques and Aesthetics by Michael Rabiger. If I remember, I'll try to write up a review whenever I finish reading them. It'll probably be a little bit though. Currently reading though Directing Actors: Creating Memorable Performances for Film & Television by Judith Weston.

Here's one that has been extremely useful:

Film Directing Shot by Shot: Visualizing from Concept to Screen by Steven Katz

I need to re-buy that one. I've had my copy for awhile. Something for the future. It's a pretty solid book indeed.
