Picking up where we left off before the forum issues, White Elephant Films, I caught your last post but was unable to reply. $800 sounds a little crazy. Is that a local insurance company that doesn't deal with film insurance? Or did you have stunts or special effects? I only ask as I've been able to get insurance in the past at or around $1200 (a couple features and a several shorts), but for the most part the films didn't have anything that risky going on.
some rental houses even have onsite insurance where you'll pay several bucks more to cover their gear, but it doesn't appear cinequipt has a similar program.
Anyone else been able to find reasonable insurance in IA?

no specal effects or stunts and this is from a well respected film insurance company. I am very suspect that that 1200 is sufficient insurance for most larger venues (the guys that wnat you to have insurance to shoot there) most require a minimum of $1,000,000 coverage. Hy-vee, supervalue, movie theaters etc.

FWIW I didn't go with them, I changed one location from a Grocery Store to a Library and I found a small Theater that let me shoot with just a location release.

This is such a great resource that you are providing and you give it away for free. I love seeing websites that understand the value of providing a quality resource for free. It is the old what goes around comes around routine. Did you acquired lots of links and I see lots of trackbacks??
